Waitomo Caves Tours earns a commission when you book a tour through a link on this site, at no extra cost to you. This page says exactly how that works, what it does and does not change, and where the numbers on these pages come from.

How this site makes money

Tours listed here are booked through Viator, and Waitomo Caves Tours is a member of its affiliate programme. When a booking is made through one of the links on this site, Viator pays a commission on it. The price you pay is the price on the operator's own listing; the commission comes out of the platform's margin, not out of your fare.

What that does not change

No operator pays to appear here or to be placed higher. Tours are ordered by rating and review volume, and the cheapest tour on the site leads the page because it is the honest answer for anyone already driving to Waitomo — not because it earns the most. Criticism from travellers is kept in, including the review that says a seven-hour transfer buys fifteen minutes of glowworms.

Where a listing is odd, this site says so rather than smoothing it over. One private tour excludes the cave entry fee; one is priced per group rather than per person; one carries a title naming a cave its own inclusions do not cover; and one tour on this sheet never goes underground at all. All four are labelled on the cards themselves.

Where the prices and ratings come from

Every price, rating, review count, duration and inclusion on this site was taken from the operator's own listing on 26 August 2026 and is shown as a starting price in US dollars. Operators change prices, and a figure here can go stale between updates — the live listing is always the authority, and the link takes you to it.

Ratings and review counts belong to the operators and to the travellers who wrote them. They are shown here as plain text, attributed, and this site does not publish them as its own review data.

Reviews on this site

The traveller comments on the reviews page come from reviews published on each operator's listing. They are shortened and reworded rather than reproduced word for word, and the negative ones are kept alongside the positive.
